FAQ - Adrian Ballinger Instagram Account Stats
Here are some of the frequently asked questions about Adrian Ballinger's Instagram account.
- This is the moment. The moment I knew all the effort and the five years of waiting and the gamble that we call decision making was going to work out. As the sun rose and we climbed all alone above 28,500 feet along the jagged Northeast Ridge of Everest, I knew my entire alpenglowexpeditions team - every member, every guide, every summit sherpa - was going to stand on the summit on a perfect empty day. Yes we still had to get down safely. Yes so much could still go wrong. But this moment I took to just stop and enjoy and appreciate the incredible fortune I have to get to experience this and share it with my teammates. There is incredible power in a moment like this.
- Four days after our summit of Mt Everest, and it’s a hard time to post about its beauty, its challenge, and its sacred nature. As the world’s most visible stage of climbing, it’s always going to have its share of grossness (overuse, lying, trashing), no matter how hard I and others that care fight against these things. And it will always be dangerous for those who attempt it, regardless of experience or income or luck. But it should be dangerous due to the mountain’s nature, not the people’s. This week one of Everest’s biggest new stars, Nirmal Purja (Nimsdai), was credibly accused of sexual assault by multiple women. The article (link in bio) is the culmination of months of research and interviews by the nytimes annacalla and jennyvrentas. I’ve always believed our job is to mitigate risks in the mountains where we can, and then honestly acknowledge risks we cannot control, and choose whether we continue. Sexual predation is a danger we can not only mitigate, we can join together to ensure we have zero tolerance for in our community. As the article points out, this is not the first or only recent example of behavior like this is the climbing community. We must do better. I’m choosing to share this article because I believe we need to empower victims to speak out through our support. I’m deep enough in this world to have a pretty good sense of where the truth lies. It’s way past time for that truth to have its day. And it’s always time for women to know we want this playing field to be safe and equal for them like it is for us. Tomorrow I’ll go back to posting about the magic Everest can and did share with us the past few weeks. I hope we all can continue to experience it purely. #everest
- Real time reel from the world’s highest campsite. 27,000 feet/8300 meters, North Side of Everest with alpenglowexpeditions. And come on you know I’m playing fredagainagainagainagainagain. Trying to summit Everest and guide my team to the top on a completely empty mountain may be the highlight of my year. But coming home to see Fred Again with the people I love most next week in Northern California is gonna be a close second. Let’s Fucking Gooooooo 🚀 #everest #everest2024 #everestnorthside #adventuredoneright #fredagain
